How Do I Prepare for a Spray Tan?

At Daisy Chain Beauty we advise that you shower, exfoliate and remove any unwanted hair the night before your treatment.  This will remove any dead skin cells and will ensure a longer lasting tan.  On the morning of your treatment moisturise but do not use any perfumed products, oil products or deodorant. Shower before you come if feel more comfortable.  Let us know before we start your spray tan,  if you have any dry patches on your body, or if you have had any problems with other tans previously.

I Am Pregnant - Can I still have my Treatments?

After your first trimester (3 months) you can enjoy your treatments.  Most of which will be adapted to suit your needs.

Why do I need a Patch Test before an Eyelash Tint?

The eye area is extremely sensitive and an allergic reaction around this area can be quite severe, and ultimately very distressing.  A patch test, at least 24 hours before any tinting procedure will prevent this.  The patch test is where a tiny amount of tint is applied behind the ear.  If any itching or redness occurs then you will not be able to have a tinting treatment.

I have had a Patch Test at another Salon do I still need a test?

Yes.  Even if you have had a patch test previously elsewhere and undergone successful tinting treatments we will still carry out a Patch Test as all salons do not use the same tinting solution.

Will Waxing Make my Hair Coarser?

No.  It actually has the opposite effect.  Waxing makes the hair finer and less dense.

Will I be Expected to Take my Clothes off in Front of the Beauty Therapist?

Another daunting part of having certain beauty treatments is the taking-your-clothes-off part. Some treatments – full-body massages, for instance, require a certain level of nudity. However, you will never have to appear fully naked in front of your beauty therapist. With the careful draping and arranging of towels, massage therapists can expose only the parts of the body they are working on, while leaving the rest covered.

Having a spray tan is a little different – in this situation you will be required to expose all parts of your body that you want tanned. So, if you want your stomach, thighs, breasts and buttocks to have a bronzed glow, you’re going to have to let your beauty therapist see them.

Remember, beauty therapists probably come into contact with hundreds of partially naked bodies of all shapes and sizes throughout their careers. They are not judging you. Their priority is to make sure you enjoy and benefit from the treatment as much as possible. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, simply ask for a towel and your beauty professional will understand.

How Should I Prepare for Waxing Treatment?

To assure ease of hair removal, any unwanted hair should be at least 1/4″ long. On the day of your waxing treatment you should thoroughly cleanse and moisturise the area of the skin that will be treated. Avoid applying oils or lotions prior to the treatment. For an underarm wax you should wash off any deodorant or anti-perspirant. Women should be aware that their skin is more sensitive during their period.

Do I need to wear open toe sandals for a pedicure?

Yes you do need flip flops or open toed sandals to allow time for you toe polish to dry.

How long will my eyebrow shape last for?

Your eyebrow shape should last about 3-4 weeks if you have threading they will last 4-6 weeks.
